Us Without Abuse Wins National Award at 2025 AdNews Awards
The Us Without Abuse campaign has been awarded Regional Media Campaign of the Year at the 2025 AdNews Australia Agency of the Year Awards. Announced at the ceremony in Sydney on 19 February 2026, the award recognises the campaign’s impact across the Kimberley and its contribution to raising awareness around family and domestic violence.
Led by Kimberley Community Legal Services in partnership with Marninwarntikura Women’s Resource Centre and Wunan Foundation, and delivered by Longreach Media, the campaign was designed to support safer communities through clear, culturally informed messaging and strong regional engagement. Since launch, Us Without Abuse has aimed to increase awareness of available support services, encourage positive behaviour change and ensure community members know where to turn for help.
The message was shared widely across the Kimberley through TV, radio, Aboriginal Health Television, digital platforms, print and social media, making it visible in the places people live, work and travel. In early 2025, the campaign was also granted permission to use P!nk’s song What About Us as the official soundtrack, helping strengthen emotional connection and community recognition.
WA Police data shows early signs of progress, with the first year‑on‑year reduction in abusive behaviour in the Kimberley in five years. Several months after launch also recorded meaningful month‑to‑month declines, reflecting growing awareness and support across local communities.
This national recognition reflects the strength of collaboration between community organisations, media partners and the wider network that has supported the campaign’s rollout across the region. We hope this acknowledgement helps strengthen the ongoing reach and long-term impact of Us Without Abuse across the Kimberley.
