Community Legal Education and Systemic Advocacy

KCLS is committed to providing Community Legal Education and Systemic Advocacy to our clients and the wider Kimberley Community.

Community Legal Education

Community Legal Education (CLE) is information about the law provided to the general community, community services, community groups, organisations, schools or other agencies.

KCLS strives to provide responsive Community Legal Education that focuses on the needs and aspirations of our clients. KCLS develops Community Legal Education through running workshops, providing resources and activities on Family Domestic Violence, Elder Abuse, Consumer Protection and Tenancy.

Systemic Advocacy

As part of its practice, KCLS tackles systemic problems affecting our clients. We work towards change by amplifying local voices and identifying policies that disadvantage our clients and the wider community. KCLS’ systemic advocacy work includes campaigns, reports and submissions to inquiries. KCLS draws upon all facets of our services to tackle systemic problems in legal policy that affect our clients.
